2.35% increase and backpay for Catholic School Staff Members before Christmas

Imminent salary and allowance increases

A joint announcement from the SA Catholic School Employers and the Independent Education Union SA to Catholic School Staff Members

As you are aware, negotiations between the SA Catholic School Employers and the Independent Education Union (SA) towards a revised Enterprise Agreement have been in progress for some time. Following pandemic related interruptions and lengthy consideration of a significant number of proposals from both parties we are pleased to advise that EA negotiations, while not yet final, are approaching conclusion. However, the resolution of remaining matters, the necessary drafting and editing, and the processes relating to consideration, voting and Fair Work Commission certification, mean that the EA will not be finalised this calendar year.

Given this, and in appreciation of your commitment, generosity and professionalism, the Catholic School Employers have agreed with the IEU to the provision of an advance salary and allowance increase of 2.35% for staff employed under the Catholic Schools Enterprise Agreement.

This increase, which is in advance of final EA negotiations, applies to all EA salaries and relevant allowances and is effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 May this year. We anticipate this increase, together with applicable back-pay, will be processed through payroll and paid to staff around the end of November.

The IEU and CESA bargaining representatives have worked co-operatively and diligently to ensure that our EA appropriately recognises and rewards our staff and enables CESA to continue to foster excellent outcomes for our children and young people.
