What are the benefits of joining IEU(SA)?
When you join the Union, you access professional indemnity insurance, someone to call for support if problems arise, and a voice in negotiations surrounding non-government education sector funding and policies.
We represent teachers on the Teachers Registration Board. We also lobby federal and state politicians to ensure that funding for the non-government sector is maintained and improved. We engage with all education agencies to ensure that your needs are not neglected when education policies are developed.
More members means greater strength in your schools. As a member, you have the support of the Union in the bargaining process.
As a member you are automatically covered by professional indemnity insurance if you are a teacher or if you are in an instructional or teaching support role. As well as this, you can relax with peace of mind knowing that if you have a problem, there is someone you can call. Whether it be a small query about your contract, negotiating a reclassification or a work cover claim, we can provide assistance. Your school’s Organiser will provide you with industrial assistance, and if appropriate, you also have access to legal advice.
Through your Member Portal, you have easy access to your school or organisation’s Enterprise Agreement (EA).
We regularly communicate with members to offer FREE professional learning webinars and inhouse learning; you will receive our regular member email update Class Action and we update you with industry information and EA updates.
