Catholic EB24 – We are Ready!
It’s official, bargaining soon to commence for the Catholic EB24, and we have one message for CESA and Catholic Employers – We are Ready!
In the lead up to your current agreement expiring on 31 July we wrote to CESA setting out your claims. We are clear in our aims:
- Initiatives to make workloads reasonable;
- Smaller class sizes, more assistance to manage student complexity and behaviour, and increased classroom support;
- Increased salary, allowances, and superannuation;
- ESO Classifications are revised to provide professional pay.
- Family-friendly conditions and improved leave arrangements
- Incentives to attract early career teachers to our schools and retain teachers particularly in hard to staff areas.
CESA sent a circular regarding the commencement of Enterprise Bargaining around 8 August. We have been advised that first negotiation meeting will be scheduled in the first half of September.

Whilst we do have this team of experts at the negotiation table, formed with members across a broad spectrum of Catholic schools, they need your active and continued support. This is your opportunity to get involved, and make sure that CESA hears your voice.
We need our members to:
- Host and attend sub-branch meetings, (see members at Saint Ignatius’ getting involved);
- Talk with their colleagues about the claims
- Look out for communications from your union
- Get involved and creative in supporting the claim
- Build your Sub-Branch structures and encourage colleagues to join.
We will be keeping members up to date through class action, and through regular other communications through email, Facebook and Instagram, keep an eye out for how you can continue to be involved.
