Consultative Committee Training for IEU(SA) Reps in Catholic schools
On Friday 29 November, 12 IEU(SA) Reps from Catholic schools attended a full day of Consultative Committee training in the IEU boardroom.
Whilst the training is the key involvement for the day, meeting face to face as a group allows for Reps to talk about their school and learn from the other Reps about their schools. This shared knowledge networking can be valuable for understanding where Reps’ own schools are at and what is happening in other Reps’ schools.
The training involved:
- Video presentations discussing Consultative Committees and what the scope and limitations they have.
- Group discussions and activities on how to run a Consultative Committee.
- How to create and propose motions.
- Running an IEU Sub-Branch Meeting.
- Dealing with ‘tricky behaviour’.
Taking advantage of sun and fresh air, the group enjoyed lunch in our local shared garden whilst networking.
We will be running more face-to-face training in 2025, including Consultative Committee Training, so look for information early in the new school year.
