Attention: History Teachers Years 4-6

Enhancing student inquiry at the South Australian Maritime Museum

The Bound for South Australia and Exploration digital learning resources support students in Years 4-6 to develop historical skills and understandings aligned with the Australian Curriculum: History and Geography.

Work with SA Maritime Museum’s Education Manager, engage with using iPads (provided) to explore ways students can use  museum exhibits and respond to inquiry questions using a variety of forms.  Learn how student responses can be downloaded and used to inform future learning engagements.

Climb the Port Adelaide Lighthouse and participate in a navigational activity. Explore the Port River, cruising on board the historic police launch Archie Badenoch.

Participants will receive a certificate towards 4 hours of professional development for teacher registration renewal.

Date:  Thursday 12 October 2017

Time:  8.45 am for a 9.00 am start. 

           Program 9.00 am – 1.00 pm (Morning Tea provided)

What to Wear: Please wear comfortable shoes and pants as participants will be climbing up and down ladders to board the vessel and climbing the lighthouse.
