IEU(SA) 2026 SACE Art Show winner announced

In March this year, we announced that we had chosen a non-government school student winner of the 2026 South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Art Show/IEU(SA) Award.
IEU(SA) Branch Secretary, Tim Oosterbaan had chosen the eye-catching paintings (pictured below) by Alexis (Lexi) Guerra. They were so eye-catching that the new Minister for Education, Training & Skills, Hon. Lucy Hood, had also chosen them for her office so we graciously ceded them!
Tim had closely weighed up choosing Alexis’ paintings or a fantastic set of oil on canvas paintings depicting Rundle Mall and an Australian White Ibis by Xenia Salupalu — titled ‘Reflections of home’.
Xenia has kindly allowed us to display their original paintings in our office at 213 Currie Street for the next year.
Staff and visitors have been admiring and talking about these well-known icons — the ‘Malls Balls’ and a ‘bin chicken’.
