IEU(SA) Rep Training Term 1 – 2025

Following our successful Representative (Rep) training in November 2024, we have more Rep training days coming up in 2025 — starting this term.
Initially, we will be running one-day training sessions for any elected IEU(SA) Sub-Branch Reps on the following dates in Term 1.
If you have multiple elected Sub-Branch Reps at your school, we highly encourage all of your Reps to attend the one-day training.
The training will cover the following skills and content (but not limited to just these):
- Role and responsibilities of IEU Sub-Branch Reps
- Union conversations – skill based
- Building an organised union workplace
We urge all Reps to book in and attend training, regardless of your level of experience.
At this stage, numbers are limited to 15 per training day, so be sure to book ASAP to secure a place.
Although many of our Enterprise Agreements (EAs) covering independent schools provide access to at least one day training per year, some allow for more. Catholic school Reps (Teacher Rep and ESO Rep) have access to paid training each year.
Additionally, as part of the new Delegates’ Rights provisions introduced last year, the entitlement could be up to five days (for initial training) for members covered by the award or in new or re-negotiated EAs.
