IEU(SA)/University of Adelaide Student Award winner: Xuan Luo

IEU(SA) Pre-service Teacher Coordinator Priscilla Corbell-Moore (left) presented the award to Joyce on the night.
Congratulations Xuan (Joyce) Luo on winning the 2025 IEU(SA)/University of Adelaide Student Award.
The IEU(SA) Student award recognises a graduating student who has demonstrated a commitment to actively participate in the working life of Independent or Catholic schools.
The award is an education student a ‘starter package’ including:
- Protection: 1 year IEU(SA) membership
- Professional: 1 year of Professional Development
- Registration: 1 year of registration with TRBSA
On winning the IEU(SA)/ University of Adelaide Student Award, Joyce said:
“I truly appreciate the recognition. This achievement is very much a collective effort, reflecting the dedication of many teachers and staff, and it was an initiative that began well before my placement.”

“The terrarium is just one example, it encourages collaboration, real-world connections, and active learning. It also serves as an excellent introduction to both the Evolution and DNA and genes units, helping students deepen their science understanding while gaining practical experience.”
