Meet the IEU(SA) Organising Team!
Our 2024 Organising Team comprises union officers with a very broad range of union and education experience, which all members can benefit from.
Each worksite (IEU Sub-Branch) is allocated an Organiser whose role is to work with members to support the functions of the Sub-Branch team and the growth of membership at that worksite. A significant part of the Organiser’s work is working directly with the Sub-Branch Representative/s (Rep/s) and members who are working together to build the Sub-Branch.
Reps have a very important role as they are always the first point of contact for any IEU member at their work site.
Your Organiser supports the Rep and Sub-Branch and provides experienced advice on entitlements or matters beyond what your Rep(s) can provide, whether that be an individual matter or one which affects a group of members.

Meredith Farmer. Lead Organiser. Deputy Secretary.
Leading our Organising team, Meredith brings 10 years’ experience having worked at the Australian Education Union – SA Branch (AEUSA). “I have held roles as an Organiser, Industrial Organiser and Women’s Officer. Prior to my work at AEUSA, I worked for 20 years’ teaching and leading Arts and Humanities in both Secondary and Primary government school worksites across country and metropolitan South Australia. I was also a worksite Rep and a member of the AEUSA Executive.”
Bruno Sartoretto. Organiser
“I have been working at the IEU for 17 years. I taught in Catholic primary schools for 23 years prior to my role as an Organiser. I have seen many changes with members being always at the centre of the decisions to provide improvements in their schools and in their work with students.”
Priscilla Corbell-Moore. Organiser
“I have been an Organiser at IEU(SA) since 2019 and I have over 10 years’ Teaching experience across R-12 in non-government and government schools. I have a strong expertise in advocacy through my roles as a Rep with both IEU and AEU. I am also an experienced educational workshop facilitator, mentor and social justice advocate.”
Brian Horan. Organiser
“I am about to clock up 3 years as an Organiser for the IEUSA. I was a primary school teacher for 35 years in Catholic and Government schools in NSW, NT and SA. My last position was at St Francis de Sales College in Mt Barker for 25 years. The last 3 years have been both challenging and eye opening. Getting to see what our ESO’s and Teachers go through in their day-to-day dealings with students, parents and school leadership is both amazing and inspiring. Being able to help our members to be productive and happy in their workplaces is rewarding. Helping them work through the challenges that are currently facing all educational staff is what I look forward to over the rest of 2024. Building a union that empowers our members to take greater control of their workplace and their working conditions has to be the aim of all of us who call ourselves an IEU(SA) member.”
Matt Blowes. Organiser
“I have been an organiser with the IEU for a little over 2 years. Previously, I worked for over 7 years with the CFMEU as an Organiser and prior with the ASU as an Organiser for over 7 years. Prior to working for the great Unions, I worked in Local Government. I’m very honoured to be working with our members in education in helping you to empower others in your school communities to be the best they possibly can be. In Unity.”
