Petition: G8 Teachers and Educators deserve employer-funded paid parental leave!
G8 Education is an ASX listed for profit childcare provider. In South Australia they run the centres branded as Community Kids, World of Learning, Great Beginnings, The Learning Sanctury, Casa Bambini, Kinder Haven and Zebra amongst others.
G8 Education is one of the largest ASX-listed companies that doesn’t offer employer-funded Paid Parental Leave (PPL).
Our NSW/ACT IEU Branch is currently negotiating with them to include it, but they have been resistant.
What can you do to add your collective voice?
Take the time to let G8 know that it is outrageous that they are completely out of step – especially in the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector where 91% of workers are female.

In South Australia, only one of our schools with an Enterprise Agreement (EA) doesn’t have employer-funded PPL and that is University of Adelaide College, run by Kaplan.
The competitive PPL rate is now 16 weeks, with some schools such as Scotch College paying the first 20 weeks and Pembroke School paying 18 weeks (which also includes foster caring arrangements).
Other employers lagging behind are: Bethany Christian (as low as 6 weeks), Blakes Crossing (10 weeks), Harvest Christian (10 weeks), Sunrise Chrisian (as low as 10 weeks), Hills Montessori (12 weeks) and Willunga Waldorf (as low as 4 weeks*)
*8 weeks is on the table at bargaining.
