Winners of ‘3-months free IEU(SA)’ membership

Thank you to all the members who updated their details during December and January. Your update was also your entry to the draw for 3-months free IEU(SA) membership.

Why is it important to update your details to the IEU regularly?

There are several reasons why you should update your member details at least once per year (preferably every 6 months) or when your situation or details change:

  • The IEU is a not-for-profit organisation and must be able to accurately determine who and how many people are members on any given date. (This is particularly important when we set our budget and pay affiliation fees to ACTU, SA Unions and the Federal IEU Office.)
  • If we don’t have your current details – such as worksite, salary/position details or contact mobile or email – we may not be able to give accurate advice relating to conditions and entitlements in your worksite Enterprise Agreement (EA).
  • Any variations to your salary may alter your membership fee category. This could mean that you are paying too much or do not have adequate coverage.
  • Your worksite (known as an IEU(SA) Sub-Branch) Representative (Rep) may not be aware of you starting or leaving a worksite if we have inaccurate member lists.
  • The potential for collective action may be diminished if we are not able to communicate with the Sub-Branch.
  • You may not be getting specific information relating to your worksite or role specific information.
  • Knowing accurate member numbers at worksites is vital for enterprise bargaining and voting of proposed EAs.

The winners are …

Congratulations to:

  • Alison Short
  • Penelope Dounas Panos
  • Aurora Reid
