SA Unions Calls on Workers to Share Their Experiences

Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of the day. Yet for many South Australians, workplace injuries, safety concerns, and difficult experiences navigating compensation systems have had a lasting impact on their lives, families, and careers.

SA Unions, of which the IEU is an affiliate, is inviting workers across South Australia to share their experiences through a new survey aimed at improving workplace safety, injury management, and compensation systems.

The survey seeks to capture the real-life experiences of workers who have been affected by workplace injuries, safety issues, or compensation processes. These stories will help inform advocacy efforts, parliamentary reviews, and submissions to government agencies and regulators.

This survey provides an opportunity for workers to tell their stories and help shape the changes needed to improve these systems for future generations.”

Participants can choose how much information they wish to provide and may skip any questions they do not feel comfortable answering. Importantly, workers also have the option to remain anonymous.

Anonymous contributions will not include names or identifying details in any reports, submissions, or advocacy materials. Stories may be shared using pseudonyms and broad descriptions such as industry and region to protect privacy while highlighting workers’ experiences.

We believe that lived experience is one of the most powerful tools for change. Whether your experience involved a workplace injury, concerns about safety, challenges accessing support, or navigating compensation processes, your perspective can help identify areas where improvements are needed.
