Catholic Church Insurances

Until recently workers compensation in South Australian Catholic Schools has been handled by a dedicated team in SA. A recent restructure has meant many of the team members have been made redundant, the head office is now in Western Australia and the rehabilitation roles have been outsourced. The short-term ramifications have been a delay in payments to providers treating injured workers and members previously managed by the CCI Rehab team allocated a new rehab person. It is hoped that those chosen to assist with the rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers will have prior experience in the education sector.

It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the high level of service and short response time we have become accustom to from CCI. There are also concerns about the decision to move the head office interstate and the decision to restructure what appeared to be a highly professional and functioning unit without consultation with those directly affected by the decision.

Affected members have been followed up and informed of the change to ensure that there is a smooth transition between rehabilitation consultants. If you are a member and have not lodged your claim through us please contact us if you have any concerns.

The workers compensation process can be very stressful and difficult to navigate so it is advisable to contact us as soon as possible if you are injured at work and we can walk you through the steps involved. We assist by attending meetings, appointments and conferences, managing the communication between you and the employer, insurer, and rehabilitation consultant and if required assisting with the dispute process.

Membership is essential if you want to access this support as we do not provide assistance to non-members.
