Education International is the voice of teachers and other education employees across the globe. A federation of 396 associations and unions in 171 countries and territories, it represents some 32.5 million educators and support professionals in education institutions from early childhood to university.

The conference had a number of inspirational women sharing their leadership journey with its challenges and triumphs including Susan Hopgood, President of EI and Ulrike Lunacek, immediate past Vice President of the European Parliament.

Members of IEUA’s Women’s and Equity Committee attended the conference and presented a workshop based on the Victorian Trades and Labour Council’s WRAW Chat. WRAW chat is a conversation based tool to enable women to begin a conversation about gender equality and women’s rights at work. It is a simple step by step series of activities to help identify the challenges that we face as women at work and how we might begin to address some of them collectively.
