Welcome to our new Organiser – Matt Blowes
I’m Matt Blowes
I’ve recently joined the IEU as an organiser. I have worked in the Union movement as an organiser for 14 years in various industries throughout metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia. The industries I had direct dealings with are Power and Energy, Local Government, State Government, Construction and associated industries, Forestry, Manufacturing, Textile Clothing and associated industries.
I’m looking forward to meeting you – the members – and I look forward to assisting you in your workplaces to make your School a safe and enjoyable environment for you and your fellow workers.
From my experience, I firmly believe that through acting collectively in your workplace (i.e. being a member and encouraging others to join you) you are far more likely to have a balanced and healthy life. Being a member of the IEU is the first part of that.
Respect and a good culture in the workplace is the fundamental part of being a member of ‘Your Union’.
